Prunella Ransome

Prunella Ransome (18 January 1943 – March 2002) was an English actress, primarily active on television and films.

Born in Croydon, Surrey, Ransome is best known for her roles in films such as Far from the Madding Crowd (1967), opposite Terence Stamp, for which she earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for playing the part of the maid Fanny Robin; and Alfred the Great (1969), opposite David Hemmings and Michael York. She also starred in Narciso Ibáñez Serrador's Who Can Kill a Child? in 1976.

She had two daughters, Charlotte and Victoria; and was aunt to Thomas Ransome.

Prunella Ransome died in Suffolk, England in March, 2002.
